A nature twist on hopscotch

Nature-scotch

Looking for something a little different from traditional hopscotch? This twist on hopscotch requires just a few materials: sidewalk chalk (or tape if you’re indoors) and some natural items found on a nature walk. Instead of tossing the natural item and skipping the square it lands on like we do in traditional hopscotch, the goal of nature-scotch is to move your pile of natural items from the start of the hopscotch to the end (which we call “sky blue”).

Depending on your children’s ages, they may move one item at a time from the start to the end, or for an added challenge, older kids may enjoy increasing the items they carry by 1 item with each trip. Have fun and let us know if you try it!
