About

The Audubon Nature Preschool, founded in 2006, is part of the Audubon Naturalist Society (ANS), located in Chevy Chase, Maryland. The preschool offers nature-based, hands-on preschool programs for children aged 6 years and younger. We believe children are born naturalists and explore the world with all of their senses. We provide ample opportunities for nature play to learn all about the world, each other, and ourselves. We celebrate each child and their unique and wonderful talents. What a great way to introduce your child to school!

Children benefit from exploring the natural surroundings of the 40-acre sanctuary, which offers endless opportunities for investigation and discovery. The children’s education is enriched by programs led by Director Stephanie Bozzo, her talented teaching staff and the wonderfully knowledgeable ANS master naturalists.

Together, our teachers have an incredible amount of teaching experience in all sorts of classrooms but for all of us Nature Preschool teachers the best classroom of all is the GREAT OUTDOORS! The children benefit greatly from formal and impromptu hikes around the sanctuary as well as weekly visits with ANS master naturalists. We explore different habitats like the meadows, pond, creek and woods. We visit ANS’s, native, rain and childrens’ gardens in every type of weather. Every day is a good day to observe life outdoors.
